Supporting the
arts & artists in Northern Wisconsin

The Chequamegon Bay Arts Council (CBAC) and Northland College are once again teaming up to host the 2016 Small Works exhibition. This event is geared toward enabling and supporting artists to exhibit and sell their work. CBAC and Northland College are collaborating to organize the event,  provide an exhibit location and handle business transactions. Artists can submit work for sale and receive 100% of the sale price.

A requirement of the Small Works show is that artwork cannot exceed 15 inches in any direction. All forms of visual art will be accepted, and artwork must be available for sale. The exhibit will be held at the Dexter Library at Northland College from November 7 through December 2. During this time a silent bid format of sale will be ongoing. The closing reception will be on December 2 from 5-7:30pm, and final bidding can take place at that time.

CBAC and Northland College want to promote local artists. This exhibit is an opportunity for emerging artists to introduce themselves to the community. Established artists can take advantage of a new venue to reach a broader audience.  All artists can benefit by selling their art and receive the full sales price.

This event was held for the first time in 2014. Thirty-five artists participated and 80 works of art were available for sale.  Over two thirds of the artwork was sold during the event, and the artists made nearly $2,000!

There is no entry fee for CBAC members to place artwork in the exhibit. Non-members can participate for a nominal fee of $10.

Come take part in this new event. Support local art and artists, and get ready for the holiday season!
