Arts Initiative Grant

Application period - CLOSED

Arts Initiative Grants are project based.  Proposed projects may include public exhibitions, performances, publications, touring productions, commissioned art and educational activities. Artistic disciplines may encompass dance, theater, music, folk arts, literary arts, video, film and visual arts.

Arts Initiative grants include a new category – the  Jim Ramsdell Soaring Spirit Fund.  These funds are intended for Arts Initiative grant applications that are… “dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of the natural world around us and fostering a reverence for all its creatures.” (Jim Ramsdell).  These funds were made available as a memorial for Jim to further his work.

CBAC serves as a regranting organization for funds received through the Wisconsin Arts Board (WAB). The grant programs are funded by a $7,000 award from the WAB, which also requires a $7,000 local match before the organization  distributes $14,000 to local artists and organizations through its annual grant process.

Artistic Development Grant

Application period - CLOSED

​​The purpose of this grant is to promote ongoing learning and to encourage area residents to further their artistic abilities for reasons of personal growth and enhanced community artistic excellence. 

Any professional, amateur or student artist residing in Ashland or Bayfield County is eligible to apply.
